Waterfront Precinct


The Waterfront Precinct will feature a hotel, restaurants, residential apartments, riverside park and potential marina.   By developing the Waterfront Precinct, the connection from the cultural and civic heart of Devonport to the Mersey River and Bass Strait will be realised, opening the City up to the waterfront - a long-held community desire.

Concept plans(PDF, 3MB) for the  Precinct were released for community construction between December 2016 and February 2017 and reflect the area bounded by Rooke Street, Best Street, Mussel Rock and the Mersey River.

Expressions of Interest are currently being invited for the acquisition of a site and development a the new waterfront hotel (corner of Rooke & Best Street), which is located diagonally opposite the new conference venue.  Further information can be obtained by contacting Robert Woolf, Development Manager, Projects + Infrastructure Group, on 02 9775 1900 or by emailing robw@pandigroup.com.au.  Submissions are to be provided by 2pm, Friday, 30th June 2017,

Council intends to progress development of the public open space element of the Waterfront Precinct by applying for sutiable grant opportunities, as they arise.
