Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) sessions
In the past year, the North West Coast has faced power outages, strong winds, bushfires and more. Emergencies can happen anytime – and being prepared makes all the difference.
If you live with disability, you might have a few extra things to consider or need support in different ways. These sessions are designed to help – online or in person – and SES will work alongside you to make a plan that suits your life.
SES will work with you to follow the four steps of the Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) model:
-
Start with you – What are your everyday strengths and support needs? You’re the expert in your own life.
-
Check your readiness – Learn how prepared you are and what types of emergencies could happen in your area.
-
Make a plan – Think about your support needs and how to manage them in an emergency.
-
Share your plan – Talk it through with your support network and find ways to fill any gaps.
Everyone’s plan will be different – and that’s exactly the point. SES are here to help you feel more confident and supported, whatever comes your way.
There are regular online Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness sessions with SES – Register from www.ses.tas.gov.au/pcep .
