Council Offices
Devonport City Council offices will be closed from 12:00pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, and will reopen at 8:45am on Monday, 5 January 2026.

Payments may be made via Council’s website or at Service Tasmania.
Household Waste & Recycling Collections
Household waste and recycling collections scheduled for Thursday, 25 December 2025 (Christmas Day) will instead be collected on Saturday, 27 December 2025.
There will be no other changes to scheduled collection dates. Residents are asked to place bins out the night before to allow for early morning collection.
Spreyton Waste Transfer Station
The Spreyton Waste Transfer Station will be closed from 12:00pm on Wednesday, 24 December, as well as on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
Standard operating hours will apply on all other days during this period:
– Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
– Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am – 2:00pm
Bass Strait Maritime Museum
The Bass Strait Maritime Museum will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
The museum will be open all other days during the festive period from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
paranaple arts centre & Visitor Centre
The paranaple arts centre and Visitor Centre will operate under the following hours:
– Christmas Eve: 9:00am – 4:00pm
– Christmas Day: Closed
– Boxing Day: Closed
– Saturday 27 December: 9:00am – 2:00pm
– Sunday 28 December: Closed
– Monday 29 December: 9:00am – 5:00pm
– Tuesday 30 December: 9:00am – 5:00pm
– Wednesday 31 December: 9:00am – 5:00pm
– New Year’s Day (Thursday 1 January): 9:00am – 2:00pm
– Friday 2 January: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Devonport Recreation Centre
The Devonport Recreation Centre office will be closed from 3:00pm on Friday, 19 December 2025, and will reopen at 9:00am on Monday, 5 January 2026.
