What do I do if I need a new recycling bin?
Please contact Veolia on 03 6427 4646 to request a replacement recycling bin.
Missed collections
If your bin is not collected by 4pm on your collection day call Veolia on 03 6427 4646.
What can I put in my recycling bin?
- Plastic with numbers 1 - 6
- Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, cardboard and office papers
- Glass
- Milk and juice cartons
- Steel and aluminium cans
- Please rinse all containers and remove all lids
- Do not bundle paper and cardboard.
What can't go in my recycling bin?
- Soft plastic (even if it has the symbols 1-6)
- Window glass or mirrors
- Batteries
- Light globes
- Polystyrene foam
- Crockery
- Household rubbish
- Food items
- Household chemicals or oils
- Nappies - disposable or cloth
Be a good sort.
With a little knowledge and effort, you can keep your Yellow lid recycling bin clean from contamination.

Please be reminded that only Council-approved bins should be placed at the kerbside for collection.
Fogo/Recycle bins are provided by Council for their respective uses and must not be modified/tampered with or used as a general waste bin.
Effective from 01/01/2025, Council contractors will no longer collect Council supplied FOGO or Recycle bins that have been modified or disguised as a general waste bin.
Examples include:
• Council supplied FOGO or Recycle bins with painted, swapped, covered, or removed lids will not be collected if used as a general waste bin.
General waste bins are to be supplied and maintained by the resident or property owner. To be eligible for collection, general waste bins must meet the following conditions:.
• The Bin is not a Council supplied Recycle/FOGO bin converted or disguised as a general waste bin.
• The Bin is not a Council supplied bin from another municipality.
• The bins is either 120L or 240L in size
• The bin is presented correctly to the kerb and not overflowing
• The bin is in sound condition for collection.
By adhering to these guidelines, you will ensure the uninterrupted provision of the waste collection service.
