International Women’s Day
Devonport City Council will once again celebrate International Women’s Day with Diamonds of Devonport.
Since its inception in 2012, Diamonds of Devonport have recognised the efforts of more than 370 women who live or work within our community.
Nominations will be accepted for 2026 awards for the following categories:
- Personal or Community Achievement
- Entrepreneurial Achievement
- Young Achiever (under 30 years)
Nominees must live or work in the Devonport Local Government area and have made a significant contribution over a period of time that enhances the Devonport Community. They might be:
- A long-term volunteer of a community or sporting organisation; or a community provider organisation.
- An individual who has overcome personal obstacles to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
- A successful entrepreneur or self-employed business owner in Devonport.
NOTE: A previous Diamond recipient will not be awarded a second Diamond UNLESS it is within a different category and is a significant contribution within that different category.
Nominations close 9am Friday 29th of January 2027.
Diamonds of Devonport Event
The nominees for Diamonds of Devonport 2026 will be acknowledged at an event held on the 4th of March 2026.
The 2020 cocktail party was held Thursday 12 March, 6pm at the paranaple convention centre.
Diamonds, family friends and community supporters heard from Diamonds Event Patron Mayor Annette Rockliff, the 2020 Ambassador Margaret Fay and were entertained by Lasca Dry.
It was a fantastic night celebrating the achievements of local women within our community.
